Welcome to Our Blog - Inspire |
Congratulations, you are doing it! You are navigating life and your leadership. However, you are looking for a little bit more. Perhaps it is more connectivity to your dreams, ambitions, and goals. Perhaps it is connectivity to a group or tribe of like-minded people who can sharpen you. Perhaps it is a way to keep perspective and focus on the things most critical to you. Whatever your situation, using social media can help you create the connectivity that you are looking for or maybe do not realize that you need.
By 2025, it is estimated that 4.41 billion people will be using social media by "Statista". Yes, you called it. Like we see today, that includes every conceivable purpose and use from A-Z (i.e. personal use, business use, educational use, etc.). The good news is with all of that content available, you can leverage technology and those resources to create your own personal leadership development and sustainability tool for free. So now the question that remains is "how do I do this" and the answer is quite simple. I will give you two approaches below - an "abstract method" and a "start now method". Note, the first two and the last steps are essential to any approach, regardless of the method. THE ABSTRACT METHOD: 1) Reflect on what you desire to accomplish and what you need to accomplish it, and write it down. 2) Identify a few developmental areas that will help you to reach your end goals. 3) Find groups and pages on social that speak to you. These should be groups and pages that will help you to grow and maintain focus in your identified developmental areas. 4) Think strategically about how those groups and pages "best" fit together to create a mosaic that supports each developmental area. 5) Avoid over saturation! Decide when and how you will engage with each of the groups and pages and commit to it. Remember your goal is growth and development, so engagement is a must! 6) Subscribe and turn on your notifications. 7) Engage regularly and intentionally grow grow grow! THE START NOW METHOD: 1) Reflect on what you desire to accomplish and what you need to accomplish it, and write it down. 2) Identify a few developmental areas that will help you to reach your end goals. 3) Research and connect with an established program. (Note, and shameless plug because it's great content, - use Reign Academy's Everyday Leadership Logic. It's free and produces results. See below.) 4) Subscribe and turn on your notifications. 5) Engage regularly and intentionally grow grow grow! Everyday Leadership Logic (ELL) - Introduction (A Start Now Option): Overview: ELL is a leadership development and sustainability tool with a daily intention and weekly focus. It includes and focuses on the following: -> Mindfulness and Self-care Reminders for Leadership Success and Sustainability -> Strategic Thinking Nuggets for Leaders -> Intentional Strategies and Tips for Leaders -> Leadership Affirmations -> Thought Leadership via Selected Readings, Videos, Podcast, etc. -> Periodic Leadership Check-ins for Accountability with Individual Tasks, Activities, Goals, etc. -> Periodic Leadership Challenges and Activities So what should you do...how do you use ELL? -> Subscribe to a Reign Academy social media page (Facebook @ReignAcademy / Instagram @Reign_Academy) -> To be most effective, take a few minutes to review and engage with the posted content daily. -> Engage! (If you are asked to think about something - reflect on it. If there is an article to read – read it that week. If there is a question – answer it. Sometimes there will be an activity that will require you to engage with your circle – do it.) So, there you have it, 2 methods to use social media to establish your own leadership development and sustainability tool for free. Plus, an introduction and invitation to use Reign Academy's ELL as your tool. (Just in case you were wondering ELL can apply regardless of your leadership level or title.) We encourage you to think outside of the box! If one approach does not fit your needs exactly try a hybrid approach. Remember that you will not develop nor sustain your leadership without being intentional. So, whatever your path, pick one today and ensure that you are investing in your life and leadership!
